These towns represent the eastern portion of Summit County. Coalville is the county seat for Summit County. Like many of the other towns on the outskirts of Park City they are both closer and farther away at once. Growth in the Park City area makes these towns closer all the time. Home and property values here continue to rise in these alternatives to Park City. In the “east side” of the county farmers primarily focus on dairy farming, beef ranching, and raising sheep for wool. Hoytsville is also the site of the Hoyt Mansion, considered by the Summit County Historical Society as “one of the most elegant 19th Century homes still standing in Utah today. The Wanship Dam, creating the Rockport Reservoir, was built south of the Wanship in the mid 1950s.
